My Name is Melanie Montgrand and I am 32 years old. I was born in Meadow Lake, SK, and was raised in Laloche, SK. I have two beautiful daughters, Sophia who is 8 and Delainey who is 20months old.

Chase the chameleon was a happy chameleon but he always knew he was different from his friends, he was green. Chase was unable to change to different colours just like his other friends could. Chase tried to sit on red tomato and he couldn’t change colour, matter how hard he tried. His friends laughed at him and they didn’t want play with because Chase was different. Chase was very sad and went to talk to his grandfather, who was old and wise. Chase’s grandfather said “ stop trying so hard to fit in, just keep being yourself”. Chase went over to the river and stood on a log and looked at his reflection. Slowly Chase saw his skin change from green to brown, he scurried quickly to see his grandfather. On the way he passed his friends and they saw his changing color as he ran by. Chase called out “ grandfather, I changed colour”. Chase was so excited and his friends came to ask him to come and play.

Arabella is a loveable and curious little girl, busy on life’s journey. In Arabella learns to Meditate, she sees her good friend, Liam, engaged in some strange behaviour in Miss Sparkle’s lounge and is intrigued. Her curiosity takes her on a journey to discover what meditation is about and finds her learning the marvelous practices of meditation, skills which she is hoping to teach her older brother in an attempt to combat their sibling rivalry. The Arabella Series is based on the quote by the Dali Lama “If every eight year old was taught to meditate, we would achieve world peace in one generation” and is written to bring an awareness of energy healing and practices such as meditation to children around the world. It is my vision to create kind and magical role models for children, to light a spark in them that encourages compassion, forgiveness and love.

Brandon shared stories with Barkley about their new house. It has a pool and a big back yard for them to play. Barkley was sad, he was going to miss all his neighborhood friends. With a wiggle of her nose, Pip pushed the door open and peeked inside. Behind the door was a magical garden, full of glowing flowers and sparkling leaves. A friendly mouse named Nibble was picking berries in the garden. "Welcome, Pip!" Nibble said with a smile. "I’m glad you found our secret garden. It’s a special place where friends can meet and share stories." Pip’s eyes sparkled with excitement. She spent the whole afternoon in the magical garden, making new friends and learning about all the wonderful plants and animals that lived there. When the sun began to set, Pip said goodbye to her new friends and hopped back home, her heart full of joy. She couldn’t wait to tell her family about the secret garden and the friendly mouse.
