One winter day Sarah was walking in the forest and met Santa's Elf. The Elf told her that Santa was sick and would not be able to deliver all the presents to the children on time. The Elf asked Sarah for help, he said that only a child with a good and brave heart would be able to replace Santa and save the holidays. Sarah agreed. She did not want the children to not get presents on Christmas and be sad. Sarah went to the elf factory, where the elves make and wrap Christmas presents. Sarah helped wrap the presents and checked if each child got the right present. Sarah got to know Santa's reindeer and also visited Santa. Santa thanked her very much for her help. Sarah wrapped the presents on the sleigh. She got on the sleigh, and the reindeer flew high into the sky. Sarah went to every house on the night before Christmas and left presents for the children. It was a wonderful adventure. All the children were happy, and Christmas was, as usual, special.

She stepped into an old house, hidden in a forest, the air thick and heavy. Despite the darkness, she could see, familiar with its every corner. A constant buzzing followed her, like invisible bees. It was not bright or full, but it was there, almost as heavy as her heart. Realizing her clenched fists, she understood the rainbow was her own creation, a manifestation of her inner light, a symbol of hope and exhaustion. Amazed at her power to create light, colors, a rainbow with her thoughts, a small smile formed on her lips. Letting the curtain fall, she sat on the bed, her mind full of thoughts, wondering if other people’s brains held such wonders.

Nik is from Haiti and moving to America to go to school. He is excited to meet his new family, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and a dog. He is very scared to leave Haiti. Nik was scared on the plane but loved seeing the big city lights. He liked his new home, it was bigger than hes ever seen. The washing machine and dryer was very scary to him because he had never seen one before. His dog Luna was sweet and friendly. All of the food is very different. He didn't like ice cream or cake but he loved spaghetti and pizza. Nik was both excited and sad at bedtime. He's never had a room or a bed to himself so it was a little scary. His new mom stayed with him until he was ready for sleep.
