A childrens book about a young Lakota Sioux Native American boy named Deacon. This story takes you through the daily things that Lakota Sioux do each day. Sioux means "little snakes" and Deacon is a proud member of the snake house. Lakota are known for their warrior culture and their Ghost Dance to protect their lands. Lakota Sioux manly hunt and eat buffalo. They would eat chokecherries and enjoy herbal tea. They use the buffalo skin to make blankets and teepees and moccasins for their feet. They live in "Tipis" the Sioux word for dwelling. The Lakota Sioux live in North America clustered in what is now Wisconsin, Minnesota and North and South Dakota or the Great Plains. Lakota Sioux were known for their beadwork and porcupine quillwork. Lakota Sioux would use canoes to travel and dogs/sleds to pull things. When horses were introduced to them it changed their culture. Long hair is important to the Lakota Sioux and should not be cut unless you are mourning the loss of a loved one. Lakota children played with rawhide dolls and throwing the willow spear. It is important to pass on the Lakota traditions and remember their 7 values of respect, compassion, honesty, generosity, wisdom, humility, and prayer.

1.The Missing Moon Parthavi loved looking at the moon. One night, the moon was missing! "Where did it go?" she wondered. 2.Searching for the Moon Parthavi decided to find the moon. She walked outside with her flashlight. 3.Talking to the Owl In the forest, Parthavi met a wise owl. "The moon is behind the clouds," the owl said. "It’s playing hide and seek!" 4.Waiting Patiently Parthavi waited, looking up at the sky. She hoped the moon would come back. 5.The Moon Returns Finally, the clouds moved, and the moon appeared! "There you are!" Parthavi said, smiling. 6. The Mystery Solved Parthavi learned that the moon wasn’t missing—it was just hiding behind the clouds. 7. Going Back Home Happy, Parthavi went back home, knowing the moon would always return. Moral of the Story: “Things may not be missing, they might just be hiding.”

Page 1 Xiaoming and Xiaohua joined a special tour. Their destination was Lung Yeuk Tau, a place full of history and beautiful scenery. Page 2 They got on the bus, excitedly looking at the view outside. The tour guide told them that there is a mountain shaped like a dragon jumping! Page 3 When they arrived at Lung Yeuk Tau, Xiaoming and Xiaohua first visited the old village called Lo Wai. The tall walls and narrow gate made them feel curious. Page 4 The guide told them stories about Lo Wai. In the past, villagers built these defenses to protect against pirates, making them feel very safe. Page 5 Next, they went to the Tin Hau Temple. Inside the temple were beautiful statues, and there were two ancient bronze bells used for praying for safety. Page 6 Xiaohua was especially interested in the stories about the Tin Hau Temple. She learned that villagers would take the statues out to parade during Tin Hau's birthday. Page 7 Finally, they visited the Songling Tang Kung Ancestral Hall. Xiaoming was amazed by the architecture and heard the touching story of Tang Songling. Page 8 At the end of the trip, Xiaoming and Xiaohua felt that this journey was very special. They hoped to come back to Lung Yeuk Tau one day to explore more stories!

1. John Jr got a camera for his birthday. John Jr and Nazut would play dress up and take funny pictures of each other. They had fun doing this and would put on some really wild costumes. 2. John Jr would dress up like cowboys, Sailors, Race Car Driver and other fun jobs. Nazut enjoyed dressing up like wizards and witches. They started to do video recording with the camera. 3. John Jr and Nazut decided to make a movie for John Jr parents. They planned out the plot and then thought of a title. The decided to do John Jr and Nazuts Funny Stories. The came up with three funny stories and started rehearsal. Once they had the skit perfected the recorded it. 4. One skit was John Jr eating banana and dropping peel so Nazut would trip and fall. Another skit was a magic trick where Nazut cuts John in half. The 3rd one was where John Jr facts in Nazuts space and laughed about it. 5. John Jr and Nazut add special effects to their videos and pile the three videos into one. John Jr and Nazut made some popcorn and presented their movie to John Jr's parents and gave them some popcorn. Everyone watched the movie. John Jr's mom and dad clapped and cheered and John Jr and Nazut's goofy movie.

The girl Zhuzha and the boy Tim really liked robots. One day they went to an old factory and found many robots that needed help. In order for them to have energy, Tim and Zhuzha had to go through the volcano and find a crystal to renew the robots’ energy

Lily and Aunt Mae would pull weeds, water the plants, and watch as the fruits and vegetables grew bigger and bigger. Lily loved picking the fresh tomatoes, carrots, strawberries, and fresh apples from the tree to eat. Aunt Mae would always let Lily have the first taste.

Nik is from Haiti and moving to America to go to school. He is excited to meet his new family, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and a dog. He is very scared to leave Haiti. Nik was scared on the plane but loved seeing the big city lights. He liked his new home, it was bigger than hes ever seen. The washing machine and dryer was very scary to him because he had never seen one before. His dog Luna was sweet and friendly. All of the food is very different. He didn't like ice cream or cake but he loved spaghetti and pizza. Nik was both excited and sad at bedtime. He's never had a room or a bed to himself so it was a little scary. His new mom stayed with him until he was ready for sleep. As he lied there alone, looking at the stars in the sky, he wasn't scared anymore because he knew his family in Haiti was looking at the same stars.
