It was Thursday, and Mohan's class teacher announced a special potluck party for Friday to celebrate Janmashtami, which was coming up that weekend. She asked all the students to gather in a circle and placed a bowl in the centre. The bowl was filled with colourful chits, each one with the name of a different dish written on it. Excitement filled the classroom as each student took turns picking a chit from the bowl. Whatever dish was written on their chit was the one they needed to bring to the class party. Mohan's heart raced with curiosity about what he would get. With a mix of excitement and a little worry, he reached into the bowl, hoping that the dish he picked would be something his family could afford to bring to the party. As he slowly unfolded the chit, Mohan saw the word "K H E E R" written in big, bold letters. Mohan stood still in shock, knowing that preparing "Kheer" required costly items such as milk, sugar, and nuts that his family could not afford.

Daniel pulled and pulled, and up came a beautiful barramundi – almost bigger than Daniel himself! He had caught the biggest fish of the day! Dad was super proud of Audrey and Daniel. They were fishing masters! They went home smelling strongly of fish. "You better go clean up!" Mum said, "I'm not letting those stinky fish monsters back in the house!" After a good scrub, it was time for dinner. Dad cooked the delicious fish on the barbie, and told them stories of his amazing fishing adventures. He promised their next trip would be on a boat! They walked into the forest, Shopie climbed trees to look around, and Finn used his nose to search for clues. Scene 4 They ran toward the light and found a small peaceful grove. In the middle, they saw a glowing ball floating above a clear spring. “So pretty!” Shopie said. Scene 5 A soft spoken voice spoke “The Heart of The Forest helps those who care for the woods. Protect the forest, and it will protect you.” “We will,” Finn said. Scene 6 As they left, the forest felt warmer and brighter. Shopie bounced around happily. “See? We found it!” she said. Finn smiled. "Thank you, Sophie. I couldn’t have done it without you." Scene 7 From that day on, Sophie and Finn became best friends, always looking after the forest and each other.

The water was too deep and fast to cross. “What do we do now?” Benny asked, feeling stuck. Finn sighed. “Maybe Toby could have helped,” he said. Scene 5 “Over here!” Toby shouted from the other side of the river. The friends looked up and saw Toby standing by the hidden bridge. They quickly ran to him. Scene 6 Toby led his friends across the bridge. “You found this all by yourself?” Finn asked in amazement. Benny smiled. “I was wrong, Toby. You’re not too slow after all.” Scene 7 With Toby leading, the group reached the waterfall. It sparkled in the sunlight, and everyone cheered. “Toby, you saved us!” Finn said. “You showed us that being slow doesn’t mean you can’t do great things,” Benny added. Toby smiled proudly, happy to be part of the adventure.

Ms. Dennis says all their celebrations revolve around light and the symbol of the Unitarian Universalist Church is a flaming chalice, each of the children have a light inside of them. River suggests they sing "This little light of mine" for the winter concert. Everyone agrees.
