I couldn’t watch any videos, and my tablet was dying. What in the world am I to do? I’ll die of boredom for sure. Five minutes without my tablet and I was pacing the floor. Besides, she has so much to say about how she used to play but I don’t see her going outside. “Come,” She said. “Let me show you what it was like in the good ole’ days.” Mummy took me outside and my skin started to melt off my bones. The grass was already pricking my skin, and a rock rolled right into my Crocs. Mummy didn’t mind any of my cries, and started to show us all the joys of her old life. That day, we climbed the mango tree until my sister Jana scraped her knee. We played hopscotch on the concrete using rocks to draw on the street. Daddy taught us how to shoot marbles in the dirt. Christmas is Aubree’s favorite time of year and she always eagerly awaits the return of her elves on “Sleigh Day,” her family’s special holiday each year on the day after Thanksgiving. Aubree’s elves are named Chippy, Snowflake, Kitty Minnie Sparkle Heart Minnie, and Stripey Blue Eyes. They return to Aubree’s house from the North Pole on the morning of Sleigh Day, arriving in a giant red and gold sleigh, pulled by a giant toy reindeer Sven (the reindeer from Frozen). Aubree’s elves always bring her some gifts on Sleigh Day, usually some Christmas books, cozy pajamas, and a few Christmas themed toys to play with throughout the season. Each night throughout the Christmas season, Aubree’s elves fly back to the North Pole, then return to her home by the morning, always hiding in a different spot. Aubree’s elves are very mischievous and she loves searching for them every morning. Each Sunday throughout the season, her elves leave her a special card or letter along with a fun gift or activity to do with her family, like tickets to see The Nutcracker or to go to Legoland. Aubree’s family loves these special days and calls them “Elf Sundays.” Aubree’s elves stay at her home longer than other children’s elves because they know she loves Christmas so much! They stay until she goes back to school, and then they fly back to the North Pole until they return on Sleigh Day the following year. When they leave, the elves always give her a special parting gift with a card, to make sure she always has special memories of that Christmas season.

Once upon a time in a sunny little town, there was a small boy named Freddy who loved baseball more than anything! Even though he was tiny and not very strong, his heart was as big as the baseball field. He admired Barry Bomber, a famous player who won many games with his spectacular hits. Johnny tried out for the little league team but it didn't go well; every swing he took missed the ball and some of the other kids laughed at him. Instead of playing on the field, the kind coach asked Johnny to help manage the team. Freddy accepted with a smile because he still got to be near baseball. The season was exciting and went by quickly until one special game: The Championship! Sadly during this important match, Brock, the star player got hurt and couldn't continue. To everyone's surprise, Coach asked Johnny to take Brock's place. Nervous yet excited, Johnny put on his helmet and picked up the bat. When it seemed like all hope was lost with two runs down in their final inning, something magical happened. It was Johnny's turn to bat and BOOM! With a surprising swing of his little arms, he hit a grand slam home run!
