As he lowers his hand, he notices a girl sitting alone in the gazebo. “Who’s that girl? I’ve never seen her here before,” Aqma wonders. As Aqma practices, he feels uncomfortable. He isn’t used to being watched, especially by a girl. “Come on, Aqma! You’re a man, don’t be shy,” he mutters to himself. He glances at the girl again, and to his surprise, she is watching him too. Aqma becomes even more distracted. Aqma gathers his courage and walks toward the girl. Rina, feeling shy and unsure, looks at him as he approaches. “Hi, my name is Aqma. What’s your name?” Aqma asks with a smile. The girl stays quiet for a moment, then softly replies, “Umm... Rina. My name is Rina.” “Hello, Rina! If you don’t mind, would you like to play football with me? Just for fun?” Aqma asks cheerfully. Rina shakes her head. “I’m sorry, Aqma. I can’t play football.” “Don’t worry! I’ll teach you!” Aqma insists. But Rina lowers her face and says quietly, “It’s not that... I can’t walk properly.” Aqma is confused a bit and then notices the walking stick behind her, “Oh," Aqma feels sorry and says softly, “I’m so sorry, Rina. I didn’t know...” Rina smiles a little. “It’s okay, really.” Suddenly, Aqma has an idea. “Hey, Rina! What if you become my coach?” “Me? How?” Rina asks, surprised. “You can help rate my skills and tell me how good my shots are! just like a real coach!” Aqma says excitedly. God describes David as “a man after My own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14, Acts 13:22). That does not mean that he was blameless. We only need to read 2 Samuel 11 to see that David has fallen very low: he took the wife of one of his generals, Bathsheba, because she was very beautiful. When Bathsheba turned out to be pregnant, David called her husband Uriah home from the battle field hoping he would sleep with her. That would “solve” the problem of Bathsheba’s pregnancy. But Uriah didn’t go home, not even when made drunk, so David sent him back to the battle field with a letter ordering his death. After Uriah’s death, David married Bathsheba. The description of this whole story ends with a clear comment: “the thing that David had done displeased the Lord” (2 Samuel 11:27). God didn’t let David get away with this. He confronted him with his sin, and David repented. Psalm 51 gives us an intimate glimpse of his emotions:

The rivers dried up, the crops turned brown, and the villagers didn’t know what to do. 火, with his fiery spirit, said, “I’ll climb 山 and find a way to fix this!” 水, always the voice of reason, said, “I’ll come with you. We’ll solve this together.” As they climbed the mountain, the air grew warmer, and the ground rumbled softly. At the top, they found a glowing crater filled with fiery embers. 火 picked up a burning rock and said, “Look! The mountain’s fire! Maybe we can use it to help the village!” But 水 shook her head. “Fire alone won’t solve everything. We need water too.” Suddenly, the ground shook, and the mountain began to rumble. 火 dropped the rock, and 水 closed her eyes, whispering, “Please, 山, help us.” To their surprise, the mountain listened.
