I am a plant called Moss. My mom is a moss. My dad is a moss. We are green. We are type of small, non-vascular plant that belongs to the group known as bryophytes. We grow on soil, rocks, or tree trunks. We don't have roots but we can absorb water and nutrients. Small animals are my friends. There are small bugs, tiny ants and snails.

Max, a golden retriever puppy with fur as soft as sunlight, woke up early on his first day at school. His tail wagged with excitement as his owner, Emma, fastened a bright blue collar around his neck. “You’re going to love it, Max!” she said, scratching behind his ears. He even found a hidden stash of tennis balls under a bush, which made him the hero of the day. Rocky taught him how to dig, and Bella showed him how to weave through agility poles. Max’s tail never stopped wagging. By the end of the day, Max was exhausted but happy. Emma picked him up, and he proudly showed off his new “Sit and Stay” skills. “I’m so proud of you, Max!” she said, hugging him tightly. As they drove home, Max rested his head on Emma’s lap, dreaming of all the adventures he’d have at school tomorrow. His first day had been a success, and he couldn’t wait to learn more—and maybe find more tennis balls!

Emma looks closely and says, "The well has a metal cover. That’s special!" Page 5 Next, they visit the Tin Hau Temple. Emma is surprised and says, "There are so many statues in the temple!" The teacher explains, "These are the gods that protect the village. We can pray here for blessings." Page 6 In the temple, the kids see two old bronze bells. Emma asks, "What are these bells for?" The teacher says, "People ring the bells to tell the gods and pray for safety." Page 7 Before the trip ends, the kids take pictures on the village path. They agree to come back next time to join the village’s traditional activities and learn more about the culture. Page 8 Back at school, Alex and Emma excitedly share their trip stories. Everyone listens with great interest, looking forward to the day they can explore Lung Yeuk Tau together!

John Jr shared a quote by Mark Twain "Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see". John Jr and Vasi tell each other how easy it is to be kind 4. John Jr and Vasi saw a mom with 5 young kids struggling to push two carts to her car. John Jr and Vasi go over and push the 2nd cart and help keep the kids safe. At the car, John Jr and Vasi helped to unload the carts. The momma was very appreciative and gave John Jr and Vasi some candy she had just bought. 5. John Jr and Vasi head home and give bird seed to the birds along the way. At home John Jr tells his parents about his goal to be the kindest person. His parents hugged him and said that was a wonderful goal.

I wear my uniform and pack my bag with books and pencils. Then, I walk to school with my friends. We talk and laugh on the way. At school, I have many classes like math, science, and English. I enjoy English class because I want to speak fluently like you. After classes, I eat lunch with my friends. We share food and stories. After school, I go home and do my homework. Sometimes it's hard, but I try my best. When I finish, I help my mom with chores like washing dishes or sweeping the floor. Then, I play with my little brother. We like to play games or watch cartoons together. In the evening, we have dinner as a family. We eat delicious Thai food like noodles or curry. After dinner, I take a shower and read a book before bedtime. Then, I say goodnight to my family and go to sleep.
